Gobsmacked! Podcast

Not really a blog – more of a podcast!

I was invited to be a guest on Catherine Williamson’s wonderful Gobsmacked podcast. It took me out of my comfort zone but I thoroughly enjoyed the experience. I discussed my Gobsmacked moments, the gold in the dark, global events and my favourite quote. Her Gobsmacked podcasts are amazing, and I felt honoured to be invited onto her platform. It was being invited onto Catherine’s podcast that prompted me to start my own podcast.

I’d listened to lots of podcasts about grief, especially in the first few years after Matthew’s death. I needed to hear from other people who were further down the line from me. I was looking for hope that I would eventually start to feel different, that one day the pain I carried would ease. I hope my podcasts are now helping others. Even though I’m still a work in progress, I am further along the journey now and able to function. I’ve found purpose through my grief, and I now have a passion for helping others going through a similar journey.

Grief is a complex and deeply personal experience that touches all of us at some point in our lives. It is a natural response to loss, and it can manifest in a variety of ways. Some people may experience intense emotions such as sadness, anger, or guilt, while others may feel numb or disconnected from their emotions. Whatever form it takes, grief can be difficult to navigate on your own.

That’s where grief podcasts can be a helpful resource. They can offer a space for listeners to connect with others who are experiencing similar emotions, provide practical advice on coping with grief, or simply offer a sense of companionship during a difficult time.
